ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Americanization (immigration)

Americanization is when someone or their family moves to the United States to live. People often move here to find better work and bring their families with them. This means that they bring their own culture, languages, and customs with them. When these newcomers settle into life in the United States, they learn the American way of life, which is called Americanization. People learn things like how to speak English and learn about American history and government. Eventually, they adapt to the customs, culture and language of the United States and begin to live the American way.
