ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Angular resolution

Angular resolution is a way of measuring how close two objects have to be in order for them to appear distinct to our eyes or a device that takes pictures. It tells us how far apart two objects have to be before we can tell them apart. For example, if you look at a mountain from a distance, it might look like one big blob. But if you get close to the mountain, you can make out individual trees, rocks, and other features that make up the mountain. The closer you get, the more detail you can see. Angular resolution is the measure of how much detail you can see and how close two objects need to be in order for you to see them as distinct from each other.
