Anoikis

Anoikis is a process in biology where cells die when they don't have a solid surface to attach to. For example, when a plant cell is floating in water, it will die because it cannot attach itself to anything. The same thing can happen with animal cells. If they don't attach themselves to something, they will die because they can't get the nutrients they need to survive.
