Anti-clericalism

Anti-clericalism is when people are against the power and influence of religious figures in government. It is when people think that the government should be separate from religion and that religious figures should not be in charge of making decisions for society. For example, some people might think that it is wrong for religious leaders to have too much power and influence within a government, such as deciding who can run for office or what laws should be passed. This belief is called anti-clericalism.
