ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Anti-oppressive education

Anti-oppressive education (also known as anti-bias education) is all about teaching kids to treat others fairly regardless of their differences. It teaches us to recognize and respect the diversity of cultures, beliefs, and experiences that all people bring to the world. It encourages us to think carefully about how we interact with one another and to look at the issues of power and privilege present in society, like racism and sexism. Anti-oppressive education provides a safe place to talk about these topics and to learn how to address them in our everyday lives.
