Aristotelian ethics is a type of moral philosophy or ethical theory that was developed by a philosopher named Aristotle. It is based on the idea that humans should lead a good life that is full of "virtue." Virtue is a type of moral excellence or goodness and the goal of Aristotle’s ethical theory was to figure out which virtues are the most important for people to have for leading a good life. According to Aristotle, the most important ones are courage, temperance, generosity, justice, friendliness, and wisdom. These virtues help people to make good decisions when faced with various situations. Aristotle also argued that we have a responsibility to each other to help ensure that these virtues are being cultivated in our lives and in the lives of those around us. He believed that by having and practicing these virtues in our lives, we will be able to make the world a better place.
