ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Armchair general

An armchair general is someone who likes to give orders and make plans, but doesn't actually do any of the hard work themselves. It's like playing a game where you're in charge of an army, but instead of moving real people and equipment around, you're just sitting in a comfortable chair telling other people what to do.

It's important to remember that being an armchair general isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes, people who aren't able to physically participate in a conflict, like due to disabilities or age, still have valuable insights that can help leaders make good decisions. The problem is when someone thinks they know how to fight a war, but has never actually been in one.

In short, an armchair general is someone who likes to give orders but doesn't do any of the hard work themselves, and it's not always a good thing to be one.
