ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Atkinson index

The Atkinson index is a way of measuring how equal, or fair, a society or country is. It looks at how much money people have and how that money is divided among the people in the society or country.

The Atkinson Index is a number that can range from 0 to 1. A score of 0 means everyone has exactly the same amount of money, and a score of 1 means one person has all the money and everyone else has none. A score in the middle, like 0.5, means some people have more money than others, but it's still pretty equal overall. The Atkinson Index is used to compare different countries or cities and see which ones have more equal societies.
