The Generalized Entropy Index (GEI) is a measure of how well resources are distributed in a community. It is usually used when talking about poverty or inequality. It looks at how resources like money, education, health care, and job opportunities are spread out among different groups in a population, and measures how even or unevenly these resources are shared. The more even the distribution, the lower the GEI score. The higher the GEI score, the more unequal the distribution.
