Theil index

Theil index is a way of measuring the difference between incomes of different groups of people. It measures how equal (or unequal) incomes are between groups. Theil index is a number between 0 and 1. A Theil index of 0 means everyone has the same income. A Theil index of 1 means that one group has all the income, and the other groups have nothing.
