ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Audio normalization

Audio normalization is like when you go to your school library and the librarian makes sure all of the books are the same volume so you can hear each one clearly. But instead of books, we're talking about music or other sounds.

When you listen to music or other sounds, sometimes some parts of the audio might be really loud and other parts might be really quiet. This can make it hard to hear everything evenly.

Audio normalization is a way to use a computer program to adjust the volume of a piece of audio so that it is all relatively the same loudness. This makes it easier to hear everything in the audio and can make it sound better overall.

Think of it like a parent trying to make sure all the kids at a birthday party get an equal number of cupcakes. The computer program tries to make sure that all the different parts of the audio get an equal amount of loudness.
