Augustus (title)

Augustus was a title from ancient Rome. It was a special title given to someone who is in charge of a country or empire. It is like being called a king. It was often given to the most powerful or important members of the Roman Empire, like Julius Caesar and his adopted son Octavian, who changed his name to Augustus when he became the leader of the Roman Empire. Augustus is a title that has been used in many different countries throughout history.
