Aztec

So, a long long time ago there was a group of people called the Aztecs who lived in what is now Mexico. They were really good at farming and building things like pyramids and temples. They also had their own language.

The Aztecs believed in many gods and goddesses and they had ceremonies where they would offer gifts and sacrifices to these gods. They even had a god of chocolate!

The Aztecs had a very strong army and they conquered many neighboring tribes. They would often take prisoners of war and offer them as sacrifices to the gods.

One of the most famous Aztec rulers was Montezuma. He was a great leader, but unfortunately, he was also defeated by the Spanish when they came to Mexico in the 1500s. The Spanish took over and destroyed many of the Aztec temples and buildings.

Today, we can learn a lot about the Aztecs from the things they left behind, like their pyramids and art. We can also learn about their language and religion from the writings they left behind.
