Ball lightning are very rare, unpredictable and sometimes dangerous balls of lightning energy. They usually appear during thunderstorms and can last for several seconds or even minutes. They usually appear as glowing balls around the size of a soccer ball, though sometimes they can be much larger. They sometimes make loud noises and can even stay in one place for a few seconds before moving or fading away. Nobody is sure what ball lightning is or where it comes from, but scientists think it may be formed from the electric forces generated in thunderstorms.
