Ban (law)

A ban is when someone in charge (like a government) says that nobody is allowed to do something. Let's say that there is a rule that says nobody in your school is allowed to bring toys. That means bringing toys is banned. If you break the ban, you might get in trouble. The same thing can happen with bigger rules, like if a country says that nobody is allowed to sell a certain type of food because it's not safe. They can make a ban to stop people from doing that, and if they get caught breaking the ban, they might get in big trouble.
