ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Religious law

Religious law is a set of rules that people follow based on the teachings of their religion. It is often seen as a way to help people be better and more cooperative with one another and to make sure that people do things correctly according to the teachings of their religion. For example, if someone's religion teaches that stealing is wrong, then the religious law would say that it is wrong to steal and that if someone does steal they should be punished.
