ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Basic income

Basic income is money that everyone gets, no matter what. It's like a salary, except you don't have to do anything to earn it; the government gives it to you each month, just like the rent you pay for your house or the money you use to buy food. This money helps pay for things like rent and food, so you don't have to worry about not having enough money for the things that you need.
