Beekeeping

Beekeeping is when people take care of bees and help them make honey.

Bees are little insects that live in special houses called beehives. They like to live together in groups and work together to make honey.

In a beehive, you can find different kinds of bees. The queen bee is the most important one because she lays all the eggs and takes care of the other bees. The worker bees are the ones that fly around and collect nectar from flowers. They also make the honey and take care of the baby bees.

When people keep bees, they put the beehives in special places with lots of flowers and trees. This way, the bees have plenty of food to collect. The beekeeper checks on them often to make sure they are happy and healthy.

To collect the honey, the beekeeper removes a special cover on the hive and takes out some of the honeycomb. The honeycomb is made up of lots of little compartments where the bees store the honey. The beekeeper puts the honeycomb in a special machine that spins it around and separates the honey from the wax.

Then, the beekeeper puts the honey in jars and sells it for people to eat. It's important to keep the bees happy and healthy so they can keep making lots of yummy honey!
