Behavior selection algorithm

Behavior selection algorithms are like sets of instructions that help robots or AI (artificial intelligence, or computer programs that seem to think like humans) to decide what to do next. For example, if a robot sees a ball in front of it, it might follow an algorithm to know how to pick it up. The algorithm might tell the robot to reach out its arm, use its fingers to grip the ball, and then pick it up. The algorithm helps the robot to remember the steps it needs to take to accomplish the task.
