Belted plaid

So, imagine you have a big blanket or a really long scarf. Now, imagine wrapping that blanket or scarf around your body like a dress or robe. But you don't want it to fall off, right? So you need something to hold it in place. That's where the belt comes in! A belted plaid is when someone wears a big blanket or scarf (usually made of wool fabric) and uses a belt or a buckle to keep it in place around their body. It's a traditional garment worn by people from Scotland many years ago. It kept them warm and dry in the cold and rainy weather. Nowadays, it's often worn as a part of Scottish heritage celebrations and events.
