ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bioelectronics

Bioelectronics is when engineers mix biology with technology to create machines and devices. This means that instead of using things like wires and circuits to run the machine, it will use different parts of a living organism, like cells or proteins. The device takes the energy from the cells and proteins to power the machine. This type of technology is used in medical devices like pacemakers and artificial organs, as well as things like sensors and robots.
