Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage

Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (CCS) is a way to generate energy while preventing the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. To do this, when we generate energy from burning biofuels like wood and plant materials, we capture the CO2 from the smoke before it is released into the air and store it underground, like in rocks. This prevents the CO2 from entering the atmosphere and contributing to global warming.
