Biomass gasification is a way of turning plant or animal waste, like leaves and tree bark, into a useful form of energy called gas. Gas is basically like natural gas and you can use it to heat up your home or power things like generators or cars. Instead of burning the biomass, like you would with a campfire, gasification takes the biomass and breaks it down in a special machine so that the gas is released. The gas is then processed and piped to the places it needs to go.
