Bird migration

Birds like to move from one place to another depending on the season. This is kind of like how people like to go to the beach during the summer and to the mountains during the winter. Except, birds do this because they have a special ability to fly really long distances.

You know how when it gets too hot or too cold, you put on a jacket or take it off? Birds do something similar. When it gets too cold in one place, they fly to another place where it's warmer. And when it gets too hot in that warm place, they fly to a colder place. This is called bird migration.

Now, just like you make plans and pack your things before going on a trip, birds do the same! They eat a lot of food and build up their fat reserves. This helps them have enough energy to fly really far. They also use the stars and the sun to find their way. It's like they have a map in their head.

But not all birds travel the same. Some birds fly really high, while others fly really low. And some birds even make stops along the way to rest and eat. It's like they take little breaks during their trip.

So, every year, different types of birds fly to different parts of the world. Some even fly from one end of the earth to the other! It's pretty cool, right?
