Bisque (food)

Imagine you're going to eat some soup. But not just any soup, a very special soup called bisque! Bisque is sort of like soup but it's made in a special way.

First, grown ups take some delicious seafood like lobster or crab and cook it up in a pot with some other yummy things like herbs and spices. Then, they take all of that cooked seafood and blend it up with some cream and butter until it becomes really smooth and creamy.

Finally, they put the creamy seafood mixture back into the pot and cook it some more so it gets nice and hot. That's the bisque! It's a special kind of soup that's super rich and creamy and perfect for eating on a chilly day.

Some grown ups might also make bisque from other ingredients like tomatoes or vegetables instead of seafood, but the process is pretty much the same – they just cook up the main ingredient, blend it with cream and butter, and cook it a bit more until it becomes a thick, savory soup.

So the next time someone offers you a bowl of bisque, you'll know that it's a special kind of soup that's rich and creamy and probably made with some really delicious ingredients!
