ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Black goods

Okay, so imagine you're going to a store to buy some toys. You see lots of toys you want, but there's one person in the store who offers to sell you a toy for a really low price – let's say a toy car for only one dollar! That seems like a great deal, right?

But here's the thing: that person isn't supposed to be selling toys in the store. They might have stolen the toy car or gotten it from a factory that makes toys illegally. That means that toy is a "black good" – something that's being sold illegally and not following the rules.

Buying black goods might sound like a good idea because they're cheap, but it's not a good thing to do. It means supporting people who are breaking the law and you might not even get what you paid for – the toy car might break easily or be dangerous in some way.

That's why it's always important to make sure you buy things from legitimate sellers who follow the rules and laws. It's not always easy, but it's the right thing to do!
