Black theology is a kind of theology (a branch of Christian thought) that focuses on the experiences of black people in the world. It looks at how religious teachings can help black people make sense of injustices they face, help them to fight against racism and discrimination, and help them work for justice. Black theology acknowledges that African Americans' experiences of oppression are unique and should be studied and talked about more. It also recognizes that black churches have been sources of strength, hope, and power for the African American community in the past, and that these communities need to be supported in the present and future.
