Blodplättar

Blodplättar, sometimes called platelets, are teeny-tiny cells in your body that help your blood to clot when you get a cut or scrape. They are shaped like little discs and are so small that you need a microscope to see them.

When you get a cut, the blodplättar rush over to the spot where the damage happened. They stick to the edges of the cut and to each other to form a kind of "plug" that stops any more blood from leaking out. This plug then gets harder and harder until it creates a scab, which helps protect the cut while your body heals.

Blodplättar also help to repair any damage that happens inside your blood vessels. If there is a tear or hole in a blood vessel, the blodplättar will again stick together to form a plug and stop the bleeding. They also release special tiny particles called growth factors that signal other cells in your body to start making new blood vessels to repair the damage.

So, in short, blodplättar are very important little cells that help your body to stop bleeding and repair damage when you get hurt.
