Blue and white porcelain

Blue and white porcelain is a special type of dish made of clay that is famous for its beautiful blue designs. You might have seen it before in a fancy restaurant or in a museum.

First, the clay is shaped into the dish or bowl shape that is desired. Then, a special kind of paint called cobalt blue is used to create the designs on the dish. The designs can be lots of things like flowers, birds, or even dragons.

Once the blue designs are painted on, the dish is put into a really hot oven (this is called a kiln) and baked until it is hard and strong. This can take a very long time, sometimes even days.

When the dish comes out of the kiln, it is shiny and ready to use! The blue and white porcelain is very special because it is not just pretty, but also very strong and long-lasting. People have been making and using it for hundreds of years!
