Boiling frog

The boiling frog is a story about a frog being put in a pot of water that is slowly heated until it boils. This story is a metaphor for how change can happen so gradually over time that people do not notice it is happening until it is too late. For example, somebody might gradually start spending more money until they become in serious debt and did not notice it happening until it was too late.
