ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Building engineer

A building engineer is someone who makes sure buildings are safe and running smoothly. They make sure all of the systems in the building are working and check that these things are up to code (following all safety laws). They might look for things like broken pipes, broken wires, and other things that need to be fixed. They might also do regular checks to make sure things are working properly, like checking heating and air conditioning systems to make sure they are up to date and running smoothly. In some cases, they might even be responsible for constructing and maintaining parts of the building.
