ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Business process outsourcing

Business Process Outsourcing is when businesses hire other companies to do things that they need done, but they don't want to do. It's like when you hire someone to mow your lawn, or to fix your sink--you're paying them to do something that you don't want to do. The same goes for businesses, except maybe a bit more complicated. Businesses may hire other companies, who have the right skills, to do things like manage their accounts, make sales calls, or design their websites. That way, businesses can focus on their main job and don't need to worry about anything else.
