Cajun

Cajun is a type of cooking that comes from a place called Louisiana, in the United States. This way of cooking uses lots of spices and herbs to make food taste really good.

Imagine that you are making dinner and you want it to taste amazing. You might add some salt or pepper to make it a bit more flavorful, but Cajun cooking takes it a little further. Cajun cooking uses things like paprika, cayenne pepper, oregano, and thyme to make food really spicy and full of flavor.

One thing that makes Cajun cooking special is that it often uses a mixture of different kinds of meats and vegetables, all cooked together in one big pot. This is called a "one-pot meal". It might have things like sausage, chicken, shrimp, onions, and peppers all mixed together.

Cajun cooking can be a little bit spicy, so it might not be for everyone, but lots of people love the bold and tasty flavors that come from Cajun dishes. Some popular Cajun dishes include jambalaya, gumbo, and crawfish etouffee.
