Canada Reads
Canada Reads is a big competition where grown-ups read and talk about books. It's like a big game show about books! The idea is to find the one book that's really amazing and important for everyone to read.
Five grown-ups, called "defenders," each choose a book they think everyone should read. Then, they compete against each other to convince people that their book is the best. A "host" asks them questions and they talk about why their book is important and interesting.
People can watch the show on TV, read about it in magazines, or even listen to it on the radio! Everyone gets really excited about Canada Reads, and lots of people read the books that the defenders talk about. In the end, everyone gets to decide which book is the very best one, and everyone feels really happy because they learned about new books and ideas!
