ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Canadian literature

Canadian literature is writing made by Canadian authors. Just think of all the stories, poems and books that you love reading, but only Canadian people can write them.

Many Canadian writers write about their own experiences and the things they see around them. So, you might find stories about the Canadian wilderness or the cold winters, stories about the cities with big, beautiful buildings or stories about small towns where everyone knows each other, and so much more.

Canadian literature can be in any language spoken in Canada, including English, French, and many Indigenous languages. That's because Canada is a country made up of many cultures and languages, and Canadian literature seeks to tell the stories of all Canadians.

Over the years, Canadian literature has earned a good reputation and many Canadian writers have won awards for their writing all over the world. By reading Canadian literature, you can learn about Canada and its people, and also have fun reading great stories!
