Carthago delenda est

Carthago delenda est is a Latin phrase that means "Carthage must be destroyed". This phrase was first used by the Roman Senator Cato the Elder in the 2nd century BCE to make the point that the city of Carthage should be destroyed and no longer be a threat to Rome. In the end, Carthage was invaded and destroyed by the Roman army.
