ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Center of lateral resistance

The center of lateral resistance is a point on a boat that helps the boat move more smoothly through the water. It's like a special spot on the boat that the water pushes on so that the boat moves the way it's supposed to and doesn't get pushed around by the water. When the center of lateral resistance is in the right place, the boat is more stable and moves more efficiently.
