Chalk carving

Chalk carving is like playing with a big, white crayon! You know how you can draw with crayons on paper? Well, chalk carving is kind of like that but instead of drawing, we use special tools to make sculptures out of a big piece of chalk.

It's kind of like when you use a spoon to scoop out the inside of a pumpkin to make a Jack-o'-lantern. We use similar tools to carve into the chalk and create all kinds of shapes and designs.

Chalk carving is often done outside on the sidewalk, and people usually draw or write messages before they start carving. It's really fun to do and it's also a cool way to show off your creative skills!
