Chemical equilibrium is like a balancing act. Imagine a seesaw at a park with two kids on it, one on the left side and one on the right. Both kids are trying to move the seesaw to their side and make it stay there. But eventually, one kid will get tired and stop trying to move the seesaw, so it will stay balanced in the middle.
Chemical equilibrium is like this seesaw. In a chemical reaction, two substances (or more) are trying to move the reaction in their favour, but eventually it will stay balanced in the middle. This means that although something (like heat or pressure) may change the balance temporarily, it will always go back to the middle.
