Chikungunya

Chikungunya is a virus that can make you feel really sick. It's spread by mosquitoes, which are tiny bugs that like to bite people. When a mosquito bites a person who is infected with chikungunya, it can get the virus and then pass it on to other people it bites.

The symptoms of chikungunya are kind of like having the flu. You might feel really tired, have a fever, and your joints might hurt a lot. Joints are where your bones meet and help you move around. Some people might also get a rash on their skin.

Chikungunya is usually not something that will make you really sick for a long time, but it can still make you feel pretty bad. The good news is that most people who get chikungunya will start feeling better after a week or two.

The best way to avoid getting chikungunya is to avoid getting bitten by mosquitoes. You can do this by wearing bug repellent, long sleeves and pants, and using screens on your windows and doors. If you do get bitten by a mosquito and start feeling sick, it's important to go see a doctor so they can help you feel better.
