Chinese zodiac

The Chinese Zodiac is a system based on animals that assigns a particular animal and its traits to each year in a twelve year cycle. Chinese New Year is celebrated on a different day each year, based on a lunar calendar, and is associated with one of the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac. It is thought that a person has the traits of the animal associated with the year that they were born. For example, if someone was born in the year of the dragon, then that person is thought to be brave and strong, like a dragon!
