ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Class tourism

Okay kiddo, have you ever gone on a trip before? Yes? Well, sometimes people go on trips to learn about different cultures and ways of life. This is called tourism.

Now, class tourism is when people go on trips specifically to learn about the different social classes that exist in a society. You know how sometimes people have more money or more things than others? Well, class tourism is about understanding how those differences can affect how people live and what they experience.

For example, if we went on a class tourism trip, we might visit a rich neighborhood where people have big houses and fancy cars. We would learn about how their lives are different than those who live in a poorer neighborhood. We might also visit a poorer neighborhood to learn about how those people live and what challenges they might face because they don't have as much money.

The goal of class tourism is to learn about the social and economic differences that exist in a society and to develop a better understanding and appreciation of those differences. Does that make sense, kiddo?
