ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Clicks & Cuts Series

Have you ever played with a toy that makes different sounds when you press different buttons? Clicks & cuts series is kind of like that, but with music instead of a toy.

Musicians use computers to create sounds and rhythms that are very different from the kind of music you hear on the radio. They take tiny bits of sound, like the sound of a drum or a guitar string being plucked, and chop them up into tiny pieces called "clicks" and "cuts".

Then they use the computer to arrange these clicks and cuts in all sorts of different ways. Sometimes they put the clicks and cuts together in a way that sounds like a song you could dance to. Other times they make it sound like a robot is talking or like you're walking through a strange, futuristic world.

It can be a lot of fun to listen to clicks & cuts series because you never really know what to expect. It's like going on a musical adventure!
