Coachbuilder

Okay kiddo, do you know what a builder is? Someone who makes things from scratch, right? Well, a coachbuilder is someone who specializes in building cars, trucks or buses from scratch!

These special builders take a flat piece of metal and shape it into a car body using very specific tools, like hammers and presses. They also work with other people, like engineers and designers, to make sure the car looks and works the way it should.

Once the car body is built, they decorate it with things like paint, upholstery, and other decorations to make it look nice. It's kind of like building a dollhouse, but with cars!

In the old days, when cars were first being made, most of them were built by coachbuilders, because there weren't many factories that could do it. Nowadays, most cars are made by factories, but sometimes people or companies want a special car that is unique, so they hire a coachbuilder to make it.

So, that's what a coachbuilder is, a person who builds cars from scratch and makes them look really cool, just like how we build our block towers and decorate them to make them look awesome!
