Colonialism

Colonialism is when one country takes control of another country and its people. This usually means that the people living in the country taken over have to follow the rules and laws of the country that took them over. They might not have the same rights that people from the other country do. Sometimes they are forced to work for the country that is taking over. It can be a difficult time for the people living in the country, but eventually it might make things better for them in the long run.
