Colossus (computer)

Colossus was a big computer that was made a long time ago during a really important time in history called World War II. Colossus was made to help people who were fighting in the war to send secret messages to each other.

Colossus was like a big calculator that had lots of switches and buttons on it, and it could do a lot of very complicated math very quickly. It was really good at figuring out secret codes that the enemy was using to send their own messages.

When the Colossus found a code that the enemy was using, it could tell the people who were fighting on our side what the secret message said. This was really important because it helped our side know what the enemy was planning to do next in the war.

Even though Colossus was really big and complicated, it was really good at doing what it was made for. Its success in helping us win the war was a really important moment in history, and we still remember Colossus and the people who made it today.
