ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

History of computing hardware

Computing hardware is the physical parts that make up a computer, like the keyboard and monitor. Computers have been around for a long time, and over the years, the technology that makes up the computer has gotten better and better.

In the past, computers were very large and bulky and couldn't do very much. They often filled entire rooms and were used mainly for doing mathematical equations.

Eventually, computers became so small that they could fit on desks and be used in homes, offices, and schools. They were able to do a lot more than just math equations, like write text, play music, and show pictures.

As technology improved, computer parts became smaller and more powerful. We went from huge computer monitors to thin flat screen monitors; from clunky keyboards to small wireless keyboards; and from huge computers to mini computers that could fit in your pocket. All these changes made it much easier to use and carry computers.

Today, computers are even more powerful and can do almost anything you can think of. And because of this, it's easier for everyone to access the internet and access information from all over the world.
