Community theatre

Community theatre is like playing pretend, but instead of just playing with your friends at home, you get to do it on a big stage for other people to watch!

Just like how you might dress up as a superhero or princess when you play at home, people in community theatre also dress up in costumes and pretend to be different characters. They also memorize lines and practice how to act, so that they can tell a story to the audience.

The people who perform in community theatre are called actors, and they are usually not professional performers. They are regular people in the community who just love acting and want to share their love of acting with others.

Community theatre is also different from big professional theaters because it's usually smaller and doesn't have as many resources. It's run by volunteers who love theatre, and they put a lot of work into making everything happen. They build the sets, make the costumes, and even sell tickets themselves.

The best part about community theatre is that anyone can be a part of it. You don't have to be the best actor in the world or have a lot of experience. You just have to be willing to try and have fun!

So if you love playing pretend and telling stories, maybe you can try out community theatre someday!
