Complication (medicine)

Complication refers to something unexpected or unplanned that happens during a person's medical treatment which makes things more difficult. It is like when you are trying to build a tower with blocks, but suddenly one block falls, and you have to start all over again.

When a doctor is treating someone, they are trying to make them better, but sometimes complications can happen. For example, if a person has a broken leg, the doctor may need to put a cast on it, but if the person develops an infection, that is a complication.

Complication can be caused by many different things such as the type of illness or injury a person has, how they respond to the treatment, or how their body functions. Sometimes, it is impossible to prevent complications, but doctors try their best to reduce the risks.

It is essential to tell your doctor if you notice any new symptoms or feel worse after starting treatment, as this could be a sign of a complication. By doing this, the doctor can help reduce the likelihood of further complications and make sure you have the best possible outcome.
