ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Compulsory education

Compulsory education means all children have to go to school by law. Just like how you have to wear a seatbelt in the car or brush your teeth, going to school is something we all have to do. It is important to learn new things and become smarter so that we can have better lives when we grow up.

When you are five years old, you must go to school every day because your parents and teachers want you to learn a lot of things. You will learn how to read, write, do math, and even play with other kids. You will have a teacher who will help you with everything you need to learn.

Compulsory education is important because it makes sure that all kids have the opportunity to learn and become knowledgeable. It also helps you make friends and build your social skills. Going to school will help you understand the world around you and help you make good choices in life.
